Roadcon secures safe contract with Winchester Australia
The Roadcon Group's Kerang based manufacturing business, Dunstan Farmer's Engineering (DFE) has consolidated its market position with a three-year contract to supply gun safes to major firearms manufacturer, Winchester Australia.
DFE expects to manufacture 3000 gun safes per annum for Winchester, business manager Mark Douwe announced this week. Mr Douwe also announced plans for a major expansion and refurbishment of the manufacturing plant and a likely expansion in employment. He said the contract will "fortify" the company, renowned for its farm field bins. "Diversity has got to be the key," he said.
DFE will manufacter a three-model base range of gun safes, designed with an innovative swing and slide door opening system. Mr Douwe said that the firm may be able to boost annual output of safes to 5000 to supply other market needs with its streamlined manufacturing process. DFE currently employs 30 staff.
