Roadcon's Agricultural Interests Expands
The Roadcon Group is proud to announce that it has expanded it’s agricultural interests, with the recent acquisition of Wahroonga Beef, a producer of high quality grain fed beef. Wahroonga Beef compliments the Roadcon Group’s existing 47,040 hectare cattle station in the Northern Territory – “McKinlay River”. Having been in operation for 3 years, Wahroonga Beef successfully operates cattle feedlots in Meredith and Winchelsea, rural Victoria, and is currently in negotiations to acquire two further feedlots. Purchasing top quality store cattle which are grain fed for approximately 70 days, the stock is then supplied to the domestic market. Wahroonga Beef also offer a Custom Feeding Service, providing store cattle producers, meat wholesalers and other industry participants with the opportunity to add value to store cattle and significantly improve their returns. After intensively trialling a range of TMR feed formulations and animal health practices, Wahroonga Beef has developed its own protocols for Feedlot Induction, Ration Formulation, Animal Husbandry and Feedlot Management Practices. As a result, outstanding feedlot performance for animal health, daily weight gain and feed conversion efficiency has been achieved. With several years experience in lot fed cattle, Lachlan McKenzie is responsible for the overall operating performance of Wahroonga Beef. An animal nutritionist, and highly skilled in all facets of feed lot operations, Lachlan will help expand Wahroonga Beef from 3,500 to 12,000 grain fed cattle over the next 12 - 18 months.
